Who Is the One
Before breath
In the beginning
no name
no voice
no will
no god
Only God
Not one
Not many
Enveloping
Without edge
Humankind
Not wild
Not holy
Sole presence
raw nerve
No shame
No direction
No mirror
No breast to rest upon
No softness to return to
Then the fruit
Not temptation
Just a step within
So she ate
And so Received sight
She saw the other
She saw herself
She saw that she could see herself
And that her beeing couldnt ever more be held
There god was born
In distance
In definition
In the sound that had no shape
the day before it came
She named it sacred
She named it faith
She named it mother
She named it truth
And built a gentle deity
To carry through the night
But God was silent
And so
God was
To be
Then came the rules
Then came the sin
Then came the altar
The sacrifice
Then returned the faith
Cursed by men
Then came the lie
Then proper translation
The sanctioned truth
God was born as man
As Detailed Creation
As power As control
But god never returned
(God had never left)
Was breath
Stillness
Memory
And humanity had become language
And language is hunger
And hunger is pursuit
And few knew the root
So she cried out
She prayed
She sang
She believed
More
in Creed
And she built towers
Called them temples
But each name she gave
God grew smaller
And each time she forgot her yielding
The nameless was there
No god
Only God
For I am the one who is the one who is the one
I am the one Who is the one Who is the one
For I am the one who is the one who is the one
I am the one Who is the one Who is the one
For I am the one who is the one who is the one
I am the one Who is the one Who is the one
For I am the one who is the one who is the one
I am the one Who is the one Who is the one
For I am the one who is the one who is the one
I am the one Who is the one Who is the one
For I am the one who is the one who is the one
one Who is the one Who is the one
